The Villages at Turning Stone RV Park

September 25th to September 29th

This was a "spur of the moment" trip. We went to Verona, NY for five days. We stayed at the Turning Stone Resort which is owned and operated by the Onieda Indian Nation. The resort was host to last week's PGA golf tournament. This was how I found the RV park. I was looking up info on the golf course on-line.

The RV park was a real nice, small facility. It was quiet.

I played a round of golf at one of the five or six courses associated wit the resort. The course I played, Kaluhyat, was one of the toughest I ever played. It is also hard to pronounce..Ga-LU-yeah.

The weather sucked. The day I played golf was the only decent day we had there. It rained off and on the whole time we were there. We had two windows that leaked. One was on the back of the bedroom slide and the other was on the back of the living room slide. We pulled both slides in and the leaking stopped.

The casino was interesting. Everything was based on a card system. You had to sign up for it, get a PIN number, and have whatever, money, you wish play put on the card. You then go to the game or machine you wish to play, insert the card, and punch in your PIN. If you won, the money goes back on the card. If you lost, well...... There was little excitement, no coins making noise, no nothing. Most of the slot machines were the new kind with a dozen or more lines to play and 6 or more columns.
